Cardiology
"This is an extraordinary series. The material is
lucidly presented, with superb images and
graphics. The detailed print articles and three
ours of video on the mitral valve provide a
comprehensive tutorial/review that is
unparalleled in the field. "
-George W. Lighty, Jr., MD, PhD, FACC
Editor, Video Journal of Echocardiography
The video series, Rafferty's Magnificent Seven,
consists of seven tapes (over 5-1/2 hours) each
accompanied by an article providing technical detail and
test questions. The series is designed to appeal to both
novices and advanced practitioners interested in
intraoperative TEE and is intended to serve as either a
tutorial or review.
Why videotape rather than CD ROM? Because of its
extremely limited memory, a CD ROM can provide only a
minute amount of video. The imaging sequences must be
repeatedly looped in order to give the user the appearance
of a lengthy presentation. By using videotape it was
possible to devote 75% of the time on these videos to
real-time TEE images.
